About the Author
David B. Magleby is a Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University (BYU). He has been an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow as well as a Fulbright Scholar. He is recognized for his expertise on direct democracy, voting behavior, and campaign finance. Dave is also the recipient of many teaching awards, including the 1990 Utah Professor of the Year Award, the 2001 Rowman & Littlefield Award for Innovative Teaching in Political Science, and several department and university awards. He served as president of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society.

Paul C. Light is the Paulette Goddard Professor of Public Service at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service. He has worked on Capitol Hill as a senior committee staffer in the U.S. Senate and as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives. Paul is the founding director of the Brookings Institution’s Center for Public Service and continues his research on how to invite Americans to serve their communities through public service.

Christine L. Nemacheck is an Associate Professor of Government at The College of William & Mary. Her research focuses on judicial selection and the role of the courts in a separation of powers system. Chris has received a number of awards for her teaching and research activity, including the Alumni Fellowship Award for excellence in teaching at The College of William & Mary.

Thorough but Liberal

The book is good by means of being all-encompassing and very thorough; to the point of being quite exhaustive with constant dates, names, and references.

I found it to be quite liberal though. I hoped for a neutral book about such a topic, but found that nearly every positive example was tied to liberals, and nearly every negative example was tied to conservatives. Got annoying to have such a consistent slant.

Love Ms. D'Arc's dragons? If so, this book will make you love them even more. As a fan of romance books with dragons, I was thrilled when I read the first book in this series and I have continued to be amazed as the books keep coming. Darius and Connor, the twin dragon princes are fantastic. Their characters are lifelike and despite them being twins, they are definitely unique individuals. But this book also allows the readers to get an update on our favorite knights like Roland, Nico, Drake and others. Unlike the previous books in this series, Dragon Storm bridges both worlds and allows the reader to travel between Draconia and modern day Earth. But no matter where they are, the attraction and the emotions swirling between Josie, Darius and Connor never stop. From the first moment they meet, the physical attraction between Josie and her two dragons is powerfully strong. It does not take long before they are in bed together having smoking hot sex. While the sex scenes are plentiful, they do not distract the reader from the story itself. This book is full of sexy shapeshifters, loads of sex, and massive doses of magic. This is one book and series I would recommend to anyone who enjoys books about shapeshifters, especially dragons. - Jacquelyn R. Ward

I truly love Bianca's dragon series. I love all her books. I've said it before, I really appreciate that she can write stories that don't have one chaotic, frustrating conflict after another. This book almost felt like a long lead-up to the next story which may be the major battle building up among the lands of Draconia. It was a very good book. A feel-good read. A nice change of pace from some of the other stories we read that have us tied up in knots the entire time... Don't get me wrong, those are definitely worth reading too!! But its nice to stay in touch with these wonderful characters and see how they are all doing in each story! Enjoy!! Well done once again, Bianca!

Loved This Book of the Series

This was the last of the series and possibly the best. It could have gone on for another book. I would love to have her continue a little bit more. The characters are very good and the story line is very good. I have read all 6 and if you like dragons you might like this series. I did start skipping a lot of the sex scenes. They got a little same ole, same ole to me and I just didn't care to read about them anymore. I like the story plot much better. I need to try to find more stories like this. I bought most of them at Amazon or a used book store so I feel I got my moneys worth. I am 70 years old(far from dead)(I hope) and I would be embarrassed to recommend this book to anyone I knew but if you are like me and still enjoy reading about sex, love, dragons, fantasy and more then go for it. The 3 way stuff I found interesting but like I said after awhile; you get my drift....

at first i didn't want anything to do with it

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so, this is in no way hostile to other reviewers. I used to read comics as a kid, especially wolverine, and now i'm in my 30's and back into them big time. i stumbled into the best comic store in richmond, va and was blown away by the art and the intellegent story lines of todays comics. Since then i have gotten a lot of the newer wolverine graphic novels. i was really not into anything about these origins books or the art, to be honest..for some reason i thought it looked like cheap and generic or something. Then i found that i really like the artwork 'dillon' does for the current jason aaron punisher run, which made me more interested in checking out daniel way's origins. i finally got origins 1 and now i'm hooked. Reviews do help when looking to find something worth while, but, in the end, everybody has their own taste and opinion so don't look over something to quick that you might like.

Logan discovers he has a son called Daken who is hell bent on destruction and vows to stop him. Except Daken has inherited his father's famous healing factor and the only thing that can make a difference is the material carbonadium, a rare substance that can only be synthesized using one small machine - which Logan has stashed in Berlin. The race is on as Logan, Daken and the evil mutant Omega Red head for the prize.

I like this series and the character of Daken but this second volume is not the strongest in the series - it's basically all about the final few pages launching the story into the excellent third volume "Swift and Terrible". But Daniel Way's characterisation remains spot on while Steve Dillon's art is fantastic as always.

I think this book is a bit dull because of the various plot threads that don't really go anywhere. Jubilee as hostage went nowhere, the Black Widow showing up was also pointless as was her side story from when she was a kid who met Logan for the first time, and the SHIELD side story ended abruptly at the same time as the Omega Red story.

All this book really sets up for the rest of the series is that there is a material that can permanently kill Logan and that Daken, angry young man that he is, wants it so he can bond it to his exoskeleton and kill his dad. "Savior" is an overlong part of the series that is largely unnecessary - only Wolverine/Daken fans would really want to read this for completion's sake.

Good but not great.

The Origins:series is based off of the idea that Wolverine has remembered all of his past, which is a great concept. I think the storyline moves a little slow to get to the point and the art is very lackluster and subpar. I feel like I am watching Saturday morning cartoons from the 90's that really really suck and went cheap on the budget. Also they probably could have narrowed down the length to get to the point instead of draggin on the end. If you decide to continue on with the series after this it is much of the same with more questions. I say borrow a friends copy to read but keeping it is just not worth the effort or cost. I think I read it in 15 minutes which is pretty pathetic for a trade.

Overall:Awesome cover art, poor interior art and ok dialog and narrative. It makes me wish that they would just start reprinting the Wolverine: Originals from 'Marvel Presents'. Apparently those days of great art inside and out and amazing story telling are gone for this series. Too bad.

A heart warming and fun reintroduction for the frozen fans – a mid-end introduction to fiction everyone else. Never missing the opportunity to read something new and nowhere near as heavy as some of the other subjects I usually tackle, “Memory and Magic” is a wonderful return of the Frozen characters in new adventures that will delight fans and beginning readers like.

Memory and Magic is volume in a children's chapter book series revolving around popular frozen characters. In Memories and Magic, Anna begins to feel frustrated because of her inability to remember her relationship with Elsa when they were children. After reminiscing and adventures with other characters, she is more determined to recover her memories with the help of the rock trolls but her plans go awry. Ultimately Anna learns that everything was leading up to promising of making new memories with her friends.

Had I been 28 years younger and girl, I probably would have really enjoyed this book but instead I read it for the nostalgia of the simple prose that got me into reading all these years. It is an endearing extension of the Frozen franchise that young fans will read for the story and images. Having read the kindle versions, it comes with a read aloud feature and all illustrations are in monochrome for a nearly indistinguishable presentation no matter what device you use.
