About the Author

Edward Keller is a professor, researcher,�writer, and most importantly, mentor and teacher to undergraduate and graduate students. Currently, Dr. Keller's students are working on earthquake hazards, how waves of sediment move through a river system following disturbance, and geologic controld on habitat to endangered southern steelhead trout. He was born and raised in California (Bachelor’s degree in Geology and Mathematics from California State University at Fresno, Master’s degree in Geology from University of California at Davis), it was while pursuing his Ph.D. in Geology from Purdue University in 1973 that Ed wrote the first edition of Environmental Geology, the text that became the foundation of the environmental geology curriculum. Ed joined the faculty of the University of California Santa Barbara in 1976 and has been there since, serving multiple times as the chair of both the Environmental Studies and Hydrologic Science programs. In that time he has been the author on over 100 articles, including seminal works on fluvial processes and tectonic geomorphology. Ed’s academic honors include the Don J. Easterbrook Distinguished Scientist Award, Geological Society of America (2004), Quatercentenary Fellowship from Cambridge University, England (2000), two Outstanding Alumnus Awards from Purdue University (1994, 1996), A Distinguished Alumnus Award from California State University at Fresno (1998), the Outstanding Outreach Award from Southern California Earthquake Center (1999).

Duane DeVecchio is currently a researcher and adjunct professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned his PhD in geology. Since starting his graduate education, Duane has devoted a significant amount of time to becoming an effective communicator of science to today’s students. He is a passionate teacher and feels strongly that students need to develop the ability to critically evaluate data presented in numerous forms from various sources. He believes this is particularly important in today’s world where the internet offers accessibility to vast amounts of information, yet the validity of this information is often questionable or misleading. Fundamental to teaching this skill is integrating data from his current and past research to illustrate to students the methodology and rigor of scientific investigations.

Duane has a broad field-based background in the Earth sciences and likes to tell stories about his many months of living in trailers in the middle of nowhere mapping rocks. For his Masters Degree and post-Masters research he conducted structural and stratigraphic analysis, as well as numerical dating of volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks in southeast Idaho and the central Mojave Desert of California, which record the Miocene depositional and extensional histories of these regions. His PhD research was aimed at resolving fault slip rates and quantifying the earthquake hazard presented by several active fault-related folds growing beneath urbanized southern California. Duane’s current research interests focus on the timing and rates of change of Earth’s surface due to depositional and erosional processes that result from climate change and tectonics. When Duane is not teaching or conducting research, he enjoys whitewater rafting, rock climbing, snowboarding, and camping with his partner, Christy.

A good investigation labour!

Is an interesting book. The F-100 story is related from the supersonic search, until his last flights at the Air National Guard command in the lates '70. The development of the aircraft is very interesting. The '50 were special years in aviation progress! When the F-100 entered in service, the F-104 was in flight (duplicating his predecessor max speed!). The Vietnam years, wich were superbely explained in the book, put the name of the "Hun" with the stars. The book has another chapters as the Thunderbirds F-100, the NASA projects for a zero-lenght runway fighter, and the QF-100 also. The creation and first development of the "Wild weasel" version (later replaced with F-105 and F-4)is delightely related. It's a good book for a great plane.

About the Author
David B. Magleby is a Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University (BYU). He has been an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow as well as a Fulbright Scholar. He is recognized for his expertise on direct democracy, voting behavior, and campaign finance. Dave is also the recipient of many teaching awards, including the 1990 Utah Professor of the Year Award, the 2001 Rowman & Littlefield Award for Innovative Teaching in Political Science, and several department and university awards. He served as president of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society.

Paul C. Light is the Paulette Goddard Professor of Public Service at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service. He has worked on Capitol Hill as a senior committee staffer in the U.S. Senate and as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives. Paul is the founding director of the Brookings Institution’s Center for Public Service and continues his research on how to invite Americans to serve their communities through public service.

Christine L. Nemacheck is an Associate Professor of Government at The College of William & Mary. Her research focuses on judicial selection and the role of the courts in a separation of powers system. Chris has received a number of awards for her teaching and research activity, including the Alumni Fellowship Award for excellence in teaching at The College of William & Mary.

Thorough but Liberal

The book is good by means of being all-encompassing and very thorough; to the point of being quite exhaustive with constant dates, names, and references.

I found it to be quite liberal though. I hoped for a neutral book about such a topic, but found that nearly every positive example was tied to liberals, and nearly every negative example was tied to conservatives. Got annoying to have such a consistent slant.

Love Ms. D'Arc's dragons? If so, this book will make you love them even more. As a fan of romance books with dragons, I was thrilled when I read the first book in this series and I have continued to be amazed as the books keep coming. Darius and Connor, the twin dragon princes are fantastic. Their characters are lifelike and despite them being twins, they are definitely unique individuals. But this book also allows the readers to get an update on our favorite knights like Roland, Nico, Drake and others. Unlike the previous books in this series, Dragon Storm bridges both worlds and allows the reader to travel between Draconia and modern day Earth. But no matter where they are, the attraction and the emotions swirling between Josie, Darius and Connor never stop. From the first moment they meet, the physical attraction between Josie and her two dragons is powerfully strong. It does not take long before they are in bed together having smoking hot sex. While the sex scenes are plentiful, they do not distract the reader from the story itself. This book is full of sexy shapeshifters, loads of sex, and massive doses of magic. This is one book and series I would recommend to anyone who enjoys books about shapeshifters, especially dragons. - Jacquelyn R. Ward

love the dragon knights!

I truly love Bianca's dragon series. I love all her books. I've said it before, I really appreciate that she can write stories that don't have one chaotic, frustrating conflict after another. Her heroes and heroines meet early on and pair up. They conquer the problems they encounter throughout the book together as a team. I love the feeling of loyalty and complete adoration. This book almost felt like a long lead-up to the next story which may be the major battle building up among the lands of Draconia. It was a very good book. A feel-good read. A nice change of pace from some of the other stories we read that have us tied up in knots the entire time... Don't get me wrong, those are definitely worth reading too!! But its nice to stay in touch with these wonderful characters and see how they are all doing in each story! Enjoy!! Well done once again, Bianca!

Loved This Book of the Series

This was the last of the series and possibly the best. It could have gone on for another book. I would love to have her continue a little bit more. The characters are very good and the story line is very good. I have read all 6 and if you like dragons you might like this series. I did start skipping a lot of the sex scenes. They got a little same ole, same ole to me and I just didn't care to read about them anymore. I like the story plot much better. I need to try to find more stories like this. I bought most of them at Amazon or a used book store so I feel I got my moneys worth. I am 70 years old(far from dead)(I hope) and I would be embarrassed to recommend this book to anyone I knew but if you are like me and still enjoy reading about sex, love, dragons, fantasy and more then go for it. The 3 way stuff I found interesting but like I said after awhile; you get my drift....
